Eating fresh and local are part of the new trend of Louvillians these days. Café Lou Lou in St. Matthews and on Douglas Loop has an array of fresh foods that can cater to anyone’s hunger. Café Lou Lou is a local restaurant with only two locations, and is a member of the Louisville Originals.

Café Lou Lou’s food is both Mediterranean and New Orleans’s style.  Some of their most popular dishes are Scallops and Orzo and Shrimp Pesto with Tri-color Tortellini. They also have huge calzones and pizzas, where you can mix and match your favorite toppings.

When you first walk into either restaurant you are instantly surrounded by color and fun paintings and artwork. One of their biggest celebrations is during Marti Gras , where the restaurant is decorated in masks and beads from floor to ceiling.  Also the staff dresses up in costumes to celebrate.

Café Lou Lou was started by a mother and her son, and is still family owned and run. There are large booths for families to go and catch up with each other while eating a delicious meal. Also it’s a fun place to go with your friends on the weekends.

Café Lou Lou easily fits anyone’s personality and taste and you can help keep Louisville Original.
